Hello
everybody, my name is Walter Shu and I am entering my sixth year at Cal Poly
Pomona, third year in Educational Multimedia. I am a resident of Pasadena, CA.
I graduated
from Pasadena High School in 2000, received my Associate’s degree from Pasadena
City College in 2003 and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Cal State Los
Angeles in 2006.
I have been
attending Cal Poly Pomona since 2009. Initially, I was in the Teacher Credential
program and working to be a high school history teacher. However, I changed my
program over to Educational Multimedia in winter 2013, after taking fall 2012
off.
I am
currently looking for a job where I work with people who have autism.
Some of the
hobbies I enjoy include: repairing computers and cars, playing video games, writing fan fiction, and researching the history of Southern California (I even have a blog about this subject).
I am a big
sports fan and I would to see the NFL return to L.A. very soon. I am also a fan
of the biggest franchises such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, and The
Twilight Saga.
I am very
much into computers and technology for most of my life and I have seen
technology change a lot over the decades. Back then, when I was young,
computers were not as powerful or versatile as it is now, and there was no internet
until the early 1990’s. Today, almost everybody has a computer and access to
the internet and that all the homework assignments now has to be done and
submitted by computer instead of by hand.
My goals in
the Educational Multimedia program are to study how educational technology
evolve over the years, be able to create applications for students who has
autism and to improve access to technology for all students of all backgrounds.
